Episode 134: Newsy News
Bart, Norma and Voretaq talk about all sorts of current news. Shia-lookalike gets punched, stealing soda from McD's leads to arrest, Patrick Stewart is in a new movie and a woman chases a pervert in Target!
Let's face it. We all know that we should eat smaller portions, but it's so hard. I was taught to eat everything on my plate and my mother would put large portions on the plate.
Apparently, Bradford County, Pennsylvania, is full of druggies. They are having rallies on the courthouse steps and articles about people's children who died of drug overdoses. We went through this in the 80s. The schools got grants for drug units and we had speakers who cost tons of money come in and do programs. Guess what: it didn't work because kids had sucky home lives. It was the same time as the "self-esteem" period. If you had great self-esteem, you wouldn't take drugs. Yeah, right.
We bought that laser disk player from a business that was in the old train station in Sayre. I wish we had kept it. It was unique. There are many old things I wish we had kept that would be cool to have now.
