George Richard Chamberlain, an American actor and singer, died on March 29, 2025 at the age of 90. He became a television icon in the 1960s for his role as Dr. James Kildare in the NBC medical drama of the same name, which ran from 1961–1966. Chamberlain later earned the nickname "King of the Mini-Series" for his roles in 1980s miniseries like Shōgun and The Thorn Birds.
