- Better.Com CEO fires 900 people via Zoom (don't worry, he has million dollar bonuses, so the CEO will be okay, despite how hard it is for him to fire people. Via Zoom.) Afterwards, he accused the ex-employees of stealing time by working only 2 hours a day?
The flight departed Pennridge Airport in Perkasie, PA, at approximately 7:30 a.m. that day for its 200-mile flight to NY after picking up the last of the passengers.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the report:
The pilot stated that he wanted to make the flight pleasurable, so he asked if the passengers wished to fly lower for a better view.
When one passenger replied “yes,” the pilot descended the airplane to below cloud level as it approached the Susquehanna River near Laceyville.
The pilot was planning a “touch and go” landing maneuver on the water, and was scouting for a suitable place for the maneuver.
A passenger stated that the airplane was flying very low over the water and seemed to be “turning and banking” to follow the bends in the river.
During this maneuvering, the airplane struck an “unmarked transmission line” that was perpendicular to the shore and crossed the river.
The pilot stated that he felt the airplane “shake and flutter” during the impact, and immediately climbed up to about 3,000 feet msl (Mean Sea Level) to assess the situation.
According to both pilots, following the wire strike, the plane felt “sluggish.” However, the engine was operating normally and there were no cockpit cautions or warnings.
The decision was made to return to Long Island McArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma, NY— which was 175 miles away— where the runway “was long and wide and emergency services were available.”
The airplane landed without further incident and no emergency was declared. Just wondered what Vortaq thought of this news.
