Why is it that when you get old like your parents were, you have to take responsibility for their care? I'm 70 and shouldn't have to make decisions for my mother who got kicked out of Personal Care because they can no longer deal with her problems. Now my siblings and I are venturing into the world of Skilled Nursing. Thankfully, my mother saved money (which she forgot about) and will now have to use it to pay $10,000 a month to be taken care of until she runs out and Medicaid kicks in. Couldn't there be another option when you can no longer take care of yourself? I think there was a movie long ago that tackled this problem. And to think that they want to help people live longer.
