ReplyDeletePeople on Medicare who have an illness like diabetes get punished by the "donut hole" because they must take expensive medicines to stay alive. My husband went into the hole this month. To get into the hole, they count what the person has paid and what the insurance has paid. While you're in the hole, only what you pay counts until you reach $5,000. Then, most of the drugs will be no cost. Everything is so confusing. You don't know what will happen until you have to deal with it. I can see why senior citizens have to dip into savings to pay for their prescriptions.
