  1. Recycling: You are right that this is made so difficult even in small towns that many people will not bother. Or the organizations that take on recycling have so many people that won't follow the rules, they give up. I don't know how it could be made easier, but that would be wonderful.

"Elf on the Shelf": Why does everything need to be blown out of proportion? It's a fun thing that could be very simple. I enjoy doing this for my grandson and he loves it. Now I see that it is a marketing bonanza. There are large dolls and items to go with the doll. It should be a simple thing to enjoy doing with your kids.

This morning (12-18-14), Sony announced that they were pulling the movie "The Interview" because of all the bad publicity. Apparently, they found proof that North Korea was behind the attack. What will the repercussions be for the future, not only for Sony, but for the film industry? What a mess!

I remember many family reunions and dinners. They were noisy and boring. The kids started avoiding the reunions because they really didn't see the importance of getting together with people they really had nothing in common with. As time has passed, the next generation stopped going to the reunions and didn't see the need to connect face-to-face with their relatives. Social Media may have something to do with this.

You could discuss Christmas disasters, favorite TV Christmas episodes or strange Christmas presents. I gave my husband a 357 magnum for the first Christmas after we were married. My favorite gift was framed Tedd Arnold sketches from a school visit he made to the school where I worked.

    Keep up the good work.
