ReplyDeleteIs there a reason for the day they pick for the lighting of the tree in Rockefeller Center? It just seems odd to have it in the middle of the week. I wondered if there was a significance to the date.
When you were talking about the 1% and it being God's will, I thought of some of the lottery winners who say that same thing. I'm thinking that God probably wouldn't have wanted them gambling so God was not the reason they won.
Did you know there was a Christmas Story Museum with a reproduction of the house and some of the memorabilia? That would be interesting to see. You are right about not seeing the whole movie because it runs continuously on Christmas Day and everyone is busy with other things so you see bits and pieces.
A huge difference between Christmas when I was young (60+ years ago) and today is that the ONLY time we got what we wanted was Christmas and on our birthday. The rest of the time it was what we needed (clothes, etc.). That's why those 2 days were extremely anticipated. There was a lot more relative visiting which was not enjoyable for kids because you wanted to stay at home and play with your gifts.
No discussion, but wondered what you meant by worthy. I think being worthy in God's eyes is accepting Jesus as your Savior. It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, fat or skinny, red or purple, etc.
